Free music from Angels and Airwaves!
Feb 14th

I was going to include an image of the album you’re going to be getting, but unfortunately, they won’t let me take it due to copyright. I respect Angels and Airwaves. So here’s your free music. Very relaxing to listen to. I haven’t heard a track that I have hated yet. Do give this a listen.
Serious about music? Mixxx may be for you.
Feb 3rd

Alright, so say you’re serious about music and it is the love of your life. Consider this, have you ever wanted to be the life of a party, or just want to practice music mixing for free? Then DEFINITELY check this program out if you don’t already have a program similar to this one. It is free, open-source, runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and comes with quite a bit of features. To the beginner it may look like its difficult to use, but it really isn’t. This program is backed by a great community of developers. I’ve been using this program for quite some time now and I have to say it is one of the coolest free music mixing programs out there, in my honest opinion. It allows you to do everything a professional DJ would do. Also, if you have an audio controller device with turntables or CDJ decks or whatever, you may also choose to use that with this program, as doing it with a mouse and keyboard really isn’t that great, but considering that its all I have to work with, that is what I use, as I assume most of you would also be using. Whats nice about this program is that you get waveform displays, so that you can beat match efficiently and easily, and also gives you a BPM display of how fast the song you loaded on one of the decks really is. Sometimes this can be a little off, so don’t completely rely on that display, use your own judgement as well. You also have the option of recording the mix you created to an AIFF or WAV file. Too bad you can’t produce an MP3 file, but I find it works well on WAV, as you can upload your saved mix file to wherever you saved it onto an iPod, not sure if it works with other devices, but you can give it a shot. Mixxx also comes with a variety of skins, so depending on your liking, and the features you want, choose the one that suits you best. There are only a few of them, but I suspect there will be more in the future, my current skin is Collusion (1280-WS) with the cyan color scheme, which I think is the best looking one in terms of appearance. If you want the auto pilot features of this program so you don’t have to worry about mixing anything and runs off of a playlist you create aka right clicking your track and then selecting “add to play queue”, then choose the “outline” skin and choose “next” on end of track mode to automatically load/play the next song onto your deck.
Mixxx isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a serious music enthusiast and want to entertain the idea of creating mixes, then definitely give this program a go. Feel free to expose me to your community Mixxx

NEW – Music: Dead By Sunrise
Dec 7th

Its been awhile since I’ve reviewed any music, so here’s some new music for all to enjoy. If you haven’t heard of Dead By Sunrise by now, it is the side project of Linkin Park’s vocalist Chester Bennington. Their debut album, Out Of Ashes from Warner Bros. Records released Oct. 13th, 2009 sounds absolutely phenomenal. The band had formed in 2005 while Chester was writing songs on LP’s album Minutes To Midnight. According to Chester:
“I came up with the band name because in the beginnings of making this album, I was partying … we’ll call it partying. It wasn’t much fun, but we partied a lot. And there was a lot of times where I was kind of in a really self-destructive place, and sometimes it felt like you weren’t sure if you were going to make it to the next day. The name kind of evolved from that lifestyle, and the title of the record, Out of Ashes, is kind of coming out of that self-destructive path I was on, and rising from the ashes, so to speak”
So enjoy the video below to the song Crawl Back In. Following the video I will post alternative links.
You can purchase yourself a copy from Walmart, which is where I got mine since I work there for only $11.88!
Also check out their Official MySpace page, Facebook fan page, and on Wikipedia while you’re at it.
The Onion: Elf Finger Found In Box Of Keebler Cookies
Jun 30th
It’s hilarious articles like such as this article about an “Elf Finger” found in a box of Keebler cookies, that make The Onion shine in its true colors.
Here is a brief excerpt:
“It was horrifying,” said 43-year-old Swaney, a shoe salesman and frequent snacker. “At first, I thought it was just a broken-off little cookie chunk, but then my tongue brushed a tiny bone on the end, and I spit it out.”
Forensic investigators say the digit is an index finger, measuring nearly three-quarters of an inch, and bearing a small signet ring embossed with a tree design. A spokesperson for Kellogg’s, Keebler’s parent company, denied responsibility for the incident.

Artist Of The Day: Donavon Frankenreiter
Jun 17th
I wanna hear from you guys on the future of this site. Where should I take it? Any ideas or suggestions? Please feel free to provide some input in the comments. Even if you’re new to the site, you can still suggest or give an idea. For one thing, now that I have more freedom, there are no limitations as to what I can embed, and can now embed most types of video players, music players as well. Unsure if I can embed flash, or if I should even attempt to, what do you guys think? Let me know. The new ShareThis button is going to drive a lot of traffic in, allowing for more exposure, so that’s another positive.
So why Donavon Frankenreiter? I’ll tell you why. His music is uplifting and positive. Click “Read Article” for more information. More >

Windows Makeover: Windows 7 Beta Build/RC Side By Side Comparison Pics
May 27th

Yesterday, Ars Technica has published a 9-page blog post on the changes in apperance from both the Windows 7 Beta version and the new release candidate. Be prepared to do a lot of reading, or, if you were like me, just skimmed through the 9 page post just looking for changes in the UI design. The explanations listed under each side by side comparison pic do get sort of lengthy on some of the images shown. There have been some really great changes made to the release candidate. A lot of known issues and bugs have been repaired, the speed of the OS has been increased, and its biggest features have been completed.
In this blog post you will see pictures of dialog boxes mainly. Some of their texts have been re-worded, and changed in some way, shape or form. Some of the changes you may or may not like, but since I won’t go pointing things out, you will have to judge this for yourself. There is an index in the post on the main page, so you can easily jump to any of the changes that have been made to each program that originally comes with Windows 7. Without further ado, you can check that post out right here.
I’m not done with today’s post yet! so please, I beg of you.. More >
Really Cool Collaborative YouTube Music Project
May 15th

What’s up you guys, check out this interesting tidbit brought to you by YouTube, and the users who made this masterpiece possible. More details after the jump. The project (the Bb2 Project) is a difficult project to put into words. Basically, to sum it up, it is a bunch of YouTube videos combined on one website that can either be played individually(I recommend playing individually for and letting them load, as I experienced massive lag while playing the videos as a whole), or all-together as a whole to create an amazing musical harmony that has to be seen to believe.
This absolutely blew my mind(I’m still trying to pick up the pieces)! Guaranteed to blow yours, or I will refund 15 minutes of your time absolutely FREE! You can check it out by visiting this page.
