Happy New Year!

Well, with the last 9 years behind us, we now have the next 10 years to look forward to(hopefully). Lets make 2010 a safe, happy and healthy new year, for all of us. Right now I am currently searching for a new site layout. Stay tuned! I’ll see what I can come up with for a post too one of these days. My sleep schedule has been crazy lately. Stupid 3rd shift. How did you guys ring in the new year? Me, at work

New Blog URL: It's official folks!

Mike-Recommends.net is now my official site url! It was a long time coming too. You should have re-directed you to that url. Re-bookmark the site with my new url as well. Now that I have figured it all out, I’m going to discuss some things I plan to do looking toward the sites future.
The NK feed is staying, as well as the calendar of posts, and all of the other info located on the side. That’s all I have for now, not looking to many any extremely big moves, but any other ideas are welcome. Comment away! If you’re a first time visitor, and have no idea what’s going on, I encourage you to browse around and take a good look at everything the site has to offer. It offers a lot.

Hey guys, just letting everyone know that I’m going to be now mostly posting over at The Nerdiest Kids as user TechieMike2009, so be on the look out for my content! I have already posted a post, and you can check it out by clicking here. I am also an editor, so this will allow me to edit more on NK as well. I’ll still be posting here once in awhile, same format, same content, but I encourage you to join me on NK. That’s where it’s at! NK is currently getting great exposure, and I would like to be part of the exposure.

Discussion: Sci-Fi to change its channel name to SyFy

Alright, as you may or may not have heard, the Sci-Fi channel plans to change its name to “SyFy” Sometime in the near future. Now, to me…this is a really dumb move, because they are trying to appeal to a broader demographic with its “hip” new name, and you can spell it out as a “text message” as an executive of Sci-Fi said. Also, it was stated that “Sci-Fi” isn’t a kid friendly name, says who?! It is definitely not just adults watching. More >
Moving from WordPress.com to Self-Hosted WordPress.org in plain English

I picked this blog post because I thought would be a good start to the week. Also, to those who have not seen what I am going to post, take this as a little crash course. So you’re ready to ditch WordPress.com and move to WordPress.org, eh? Well, I have news for you my friend. It is not as easy as you think it is. There are several reasons why. If you are even considering it, then the article I will link to below this post brings up several good points as to why it would destroy your blogs productivity, and several other factors, such as picking a new theme(or template), advertising on your blog, and installing plugins and other perks.

SO yesterday was pretty sweet. So many bands played that day! Best concert of my life. I don’t regret a minute of it. I had a great time, and I would definitely re-live the experience. Linkin Park just rocked the house, it was insane. Especially the epic intro that night. They had this screen from Verizon that provides a # to send a text to and have it appear, but it was hard to get my texts to appear because of the flood of other texts haha. Bands that played yesterday that I didn’t mention: 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, and Armor for Speep(I think I missed them haha).
10 Years is a really awesome band, I definitely recommend checking them out. Heres a sample:

I realize I haven’t updated my wallpapers section, sorry for that but I just haven’t had the time to do it because of last night. I will roll out 3 updates on Friday. Thanks for yesterdays comment Justin. Have a great day!
