Free music from Angels and Airwaves!
Feb 14th

I was going to include an image of the album you’re going to be getting, but unfortunately, they won’t let me take it due to copyright. I respect Angels and Airwaves. So here’s your free music. Very relaxing to listen to. I haven’t heard a track that I have hated yet. Do give this a listen.
Serious about music? Mixxx may be for you.
Feb 3rd

Alright, so say you’re serious about music and it is the love of your life. Consider this, have you ever wanted to be the life of a party, or just want to practice music mixing for free? Then DEFINITELY check this program out if you don’t already have a program similar to this one. It is free, open-source, runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and comes with quite a bit of features. To the beginner it may look like its difficult to use, but it really isn’t. This program is backed by a great community of developers. I’ve been using this program for quite some time now and I have to say it is one of the coolest free music mixing programs out there, in my honest opinion. It allows you to do everything a professional DJ would do. Also, if you have an audio controller device with turntables or CDJ decks or whatever, you may also choose to use that with this program, as doing it with a mouse and keyboard really isn’t that great, but considering that its all I have to work with, that is what I use, as I assume most of you would also be using. Whats nice about this program is that you get waveform displays, so that you can beat match efficiently and easily, and also gives you a BPM display of how fast the song you loaded on one of the decks really is. Sometimes this can be a little off, so don’t completely rely on that display, use your own judgement as well. You also have the option of recording the mix you created to an AIFF or WAV file. Too bad you can’t produce an MP3 file, but I find it works well on WAV, as you can upload your saved mix file to wherever you saved it onto an iPod, not sure if it works with other devices, but you can give it a shot. Mixxx also comes with a variety of skins, so depending on your liking, and the features you want, choose the one that suits you best. There are only a few of them, but I suspect there will be more in the future, my current skin is Collusion (1280-WS) with the cyan color scheme, which I think is the best looking one in terms of appearance. If you want the auto pilot features of this program so you don’t have to worry about mixing anything and runs off of a playlist you create aka right clicking your track and then selecting “add to play queue”, then choose the “outline” skin and choose “next” on end of track mode to automatically load/play the next song onto your deck.
Mixxx isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a serious music enthusiast and want to entertain the idea of creating mixes, then definitely give this program a go. Feel free to expose me to your community Mixxx

INCREDIBLE Table Tapping
Nov 9th
So I happen to be surfing YouTube as usual, when I ran into this video of someone actually impersonating the drum and bass genre on just a table, and you have to admit that some serious talent goes into this. There are MANY others out there, most of them can be found just by clicking through the related videos. I’m going to share a few with you today. Enjoy. At the end of the post, I will list the users to give credit. Click the jump for more after the 1st video.

Create Digital Music – Disembodied Heads Meet Serato: Neurosonics Audiomedical Labs
Nov 4th
Sup everyone, been awhile since I’ve posted I realize, but I’ve had this sitting in my bookmarks for awhile, so I figured why not? Anyway, this video from site Create Digital Music is a creative take on DJ-ing. Enjoy the awesomeness of disembodied heads on turntables. Yeah, thats pretty much it. Recent news: I have a new desktop! and it is very powerful. I highly recommend shopping for PC parts from Newegg. Worth it. Anyway, enjoy the video.

Artist Of The Day: Donavon Frankenreiter
Jun 17th
I wanna hear from you guys on the future of this site. Where should I take it? Any ideas or suggestions? Please feel free to provide some input in the comments. Even if you’re new to the site, you can still suggest or give an idea. For one thing, now that I have more freedom, there are no limitations as to what I can embed, and can now embed most types of video players, music players as well. Unsure if I can embed flash, or if I should even attempt to, what do you guys think? Let me know. The new ShareThis button is going to drive a lot of traffic in, allowing for more exposure, so that’s another positive.
So why Donavon Frankenreiter? I’ll tell you why. His music is uplifting and positive. Click “Read Article” for more information. More >

Ever wanted to be your own DJ? Now you can!
May 5th

Blip.fm is a wonderful site for any music enthusiast. All you do choose a DJ name, give your e-mail address, and off you go! You can also view the real-time public blip.fm playlist. Check it out! I’m blippin as GroovemasterMike. So favorite me(which automatically makes you a listener of my stream) and prop me(you only get 12), if you would be so kind. You can even add services such as Last.fm, twitter, ping.fm and a few more, hopefully more support for other services will be added as time goes on. I’ve fallen in love with this site like I’ve fallen in love with Stereomood.
KICK ASS music site: Stereomood.com
Apr 30th

Okay, so you guys gotta check this site out, and listen to the playlists for a little while. Some really good tunes on this site. Stereomood is a site tailored to creating a playlist around your emotions. I think this is a really great idea. Sometimes, you just want to hear a song that fits your mood, and quite often, the song that you’re after just doesn’t have the mood you’re looking for. Stereomood compliments your mood perfectly. In fact, it LOVES your mood, embracing it as if it were a child. In the dropdown box on the site, you can search for a mood, search the site, or an activity, and off you go into a sweet music playlist. That’s really all there is to it. This site is going into links of interest for future reference.
Since we’re on the topic of music, I thought that I would conclude this post with a video from YouTube of the best Weezer song I’ve heard in a long time. Enjoy.
